Being an American who spent two years in Vicenza Italy during the mid 90's I always found it strange when you got Italian food in Styrofoam or plastic. I still remember the gelato best ice cream in the world bar none, but i digress Penne alla diavola is delicious but in no way can compare to spaghetti con i granchi.

i had to laugh real hard on the meatballs.... The rest was just weird. Let's try this from a different perspective:
If Sabayon is zabaione, then
Gentoo is (raw) eggs (you may want to cook them)
Debian is bread (Did you know you can re-bake it? i once made blueberry-yogurt-muffins from old olive bread.)
Ubuntu is coffee cake
Linux Mint is mint chocolate cake
Fedora is bagels
Mandriva is baguettes
(PCLinuxOS is Subway sandwiches)
openSuse is Currywurst
Arch could be tofu.... (i just don't know it enough)

If I ever get back to Italy (which is unfortunately very unlikely) I would love to do that, i have all sorts of places I want to revisit, like the hill of Asiago and Juliet drop zone near Aviano air base, Milan, Venice, Firenza/Florence, Jeslo beach, and a whole lot of other places.

What's wrong with tofu? i like the taste and one can make lots of stuff from it. But i agree that it doesn't quite fit. Also, i don't remember ever trying Arch.... maybe i didn't even manage to install. (or i had Sabayon already installed and Arch didn't have a LiveCD? or the fact that one has to configure more....)

If you tried Arch, what food would you compare it to?

A single ingredient (alimento) is simplistic as compared with any distribution since it is the collection of many things.

'Arch' I found it easy to use but powerful enough (ie well balanced).

So for me it should contain both carbohydrate than protein (meat, fish or both) as in a more complex dish.
I'd suggest the Spanish paella.
