Hello, please help me someone!

After a fresh sabayon 5.3-amd64 gnome install, my huawei e160 perfectly connects to the internet.
Then, after upgrading all to the actual versions, it's impossible to connect via mobile broadband again.
Maybe the failure is because of the ppp-update, which has been played in then?!

I simply do not know what to change, that my huawei would connect again.

Do yuo get any error messages? Try the following command as root user in a Konsole/Terminal window without the modem plugged in:

Code: Select all: dmesg

and then plug in the modem and repeat the above command and post here the new stuff at the end.

Also have a look in the lof file /var/log/messages and see if there are any error messages in there from the date/time when you started seeing the problem. Post any error messages here too.

Also post the output from the following commands entered as the root user:

Please use the Code button around console output, otherwise lengthy pasted output requires a lot of scrolling up and down a page. Also, please strip out blank lines between individual lines so that it looks like it did on the console (I used Word 2007 and replaced ^p^p with ^p in your post). Anyway, now it is readable.

I cannot see any errors in what you have posted. Please have a look in the file /var/log/messages for messages around the date and time that the problem started, and post the error messages here. Also, how is the modem configured in NetworkManager? Into which fields have you entered values, and which boxes are ticked? I set mine up as follows for another network: Qtel mobile broadband HUAWEI E220 USB modem [Solved] (the lsusb output you posted shows your modem as "idProduct 0x1003 E220 HSDPA Modem / E270 HSDPA/HSUPA Modem", so perhaps the setup is similar to the E220 that I use).

It's a very long shot, but perform the edit in the following post too: Re: Set up system time.

When I try to connect with the huawei modem, I do not get any explicit error messages, it simply does not connect!

Regarding Networkmanager: the only thing I changed was to put in the right apn (in my case "webmobil1"), pin query is deactivated. All other entries were being unchanged and this works fine in other linux distros, e.g. ubuntu, fedora or opensuse.

A little googling shows that this is a bug in net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r1, the latest version of NetworkManager in the Entropy repository.

You need to do two things:

1. To get you going for now, install the latest version of the package (net-misc/networkmanager-0.8-r6) via the Portage package manager, as root user in a Konsole/Terminal window:

The first command above synchronises your PC with the Portage 'main tree' repository of ebuilds (scripts for compiling and installing source packages).
The second command above synchronises your PC with the Sabayon overlay repository of ebuilds.

The fourth command above is to tell Entropy what you did via Portage.

2. File a bug report (see the link 'Bugs' at the top right of this screen) requesting that the current NetworkManager package in the Entropy repository be bumped to the latest version in Portage in order to fix a bug. Refer in your bug report to Gentoo Bugzilla Bug Report No. 330665. This should hopefully trigger joost to build networkmanager-0.8-r6 and put it in the Entropy repository.
