Sabayon 5.2 Loading Problems [Solved]

After installing 5.2 on reboot I get Please insert system disk and hit any key to continue. It looks like it didn't install grub to the root partition. I can't seem to find a good tutorial to reinstall grub from a live CD?? Any help.

That would be something like:

grub2-install /dev/sda (from a live root shell)

[genfool]

To be honest, may be worth re-installing. The issue can be resolved by chroot into it from a live cd.
Since you just installed, will only take a few min. to do it again.
I never try to suggest re-installing to correct an issue....this is one example where I will.

Pay attention to the installer program when asking about grub. In most cases the defaults are fine.
How is your system setup?
Is this a dual boot with windows, or is this a single boot with linux only?

This requires you to boot a live cd and chroot into your install and repair it.
May be that another install is what you need.

When I try to mount /dev/hdb3 /mnt/gentoo it says mount point /mnt/gentoo does not exit. any Help?
This a duel boot system and Sabayon is to be installed on /dev/sdb3.

You have to create the mount point first:

mkdir -p /mnt/gentoo

BTW, see my post Re: Grub2 grub-mkconfig creating incorrect grub.cfg [Solved]; according to the Gentoo Handbook an extra step is required when chrooting that is not mentioned in the current SL Wiki article on how to restore Grub2.
