After having used Ubuntu for almost three years, I thought I'd see what alternatives are out there and eventually decided to give Sabayon a go. Getting it up and working has been a bit of a challenge for more and the information these forums have proved invaluable for resolving (often self-inflicted) issues, understanding what I was doing wrong and how I should be doing things correctly.

I have learned a lot over the course of the past week and, applying that knowledge, yesterday I re-installed everything and it all went very smoothly and I now have a very stable and lovely looking distro on my desktop.

I haven't needed to post any questions as all the issues I encountered had already been seen by someone else, but thanks for the very comprehensive resource that these forums (and the Wiki, for that matter) represent.

Same here (rather than posting another thread), i've been using Ubuntu for the past few years, and after setting up Sabayon the other day i am really impressed. It seems much more stable and even easier to setup! :D

Just wanted to say thanks to all the contributors and developers for making this distro as good as it is. :alien:

LOL. The first release of Ubuntu was in October 2004.
