phpBB buggy? Not all new threads or active topics displayed

The current version of phpBB used for the SL forums appears to be buggy: it does not always show all threads:

There are four links at the top of the forums page:

* View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics

When I click on 'View new posts' or 'View active topics', the page displayed does not always show all the threads that it should show. I find that I am now missing some new posts and topics because of this. The only way I can be sure to see all new posts is to visit each Shed/Forum individually. This is a pain in the neck. I did not have to do this with the previous version of phpBB that was used.

we are at the latest version of phpbb software, check upstream.
