Without looking at the list in my original post over 2 years ago, these are the 10 GUI apps that I use the most under SL these days, in no particular order:

1. Firefox
2. Thunderbird
3. OpenOffice Writer
4. OpenOffice Calc
5. Microsoft Word under Wine
(OOo Writer simply does not cut it for my professional work, I'm afraid.)
6. Yakuake (Does that count as a GUI app.?)
7. SMPlayer
8. gscan2pdf
9. Skype
10. KWrite
