I'm trying to find 'the best' desktop linux. So I'm testing Fedora, Ubuntu, OpenSuSE and now Sabayon.
With the 1st 3 no problem to install the VBox Guest Additions. I admit all have there peculiarities, but alas that's what is Linux about. I know Sabayon is Gentoo based, and I must admit I really love the Gentoo software management (emerge/portage). I understand that I must keep to the automatic installation as much as possible.
But I don't find anywhere on the web a proper description to install VBox Guest Additions on Gentoo based Linux's.
So my question is what is wrong with my installation?
In the /var/log/VBoxGuestAdditions.log is stated:
* Starting the VirtualBox Guest Additions...
* modprobe vboxguest failed
/etc/init.d/vboxadd-service: line 125: /sbin/functions.sh: No such file or directory
But I don't see any description to install the module vboxguest, or add it to /etc/conf.d/modules
I'm not a Linux expert, more a newbie. Clearly I'm overlooking something, but inexperience with Sabayon/Gentoo is disabling me.
Any help is appreciated.
