Hi I tried an emerge world today and this is what I get when it comes to sabayon-skel. What should i do??

Code: Select all

>>>  '/var/lib/portage/app-misc:sabayon-skel-4.2-r4:20091104-015612.log'

 * Package 'app-misc/sabayon-skel-4.2-r4' NOT merged due to file
 * collisions. If necessary, refer to your elog messages for the whole
 * content of the above message.

I looked at the log file mentioned above and it shows the exact same message - nothing new.

Is this a bug?? Any ideas on how to proceed?

Thanks.

Collisions ocurred in Gentoo based distros, and are not uncommon, are normal, are not problem, is a protection in gentoo.
manners to solve, arew remove the collident files, but if many files collident, you may remove the collision protection in make.conf, re-install packages, then reactivate collision protection.

Thanks, fellows, for your advice.

In the end I made backups of the three files in question, deleted them, and installed sabayon-skel without any problems.

Solved, yayy!!!
