If you don't like "Clubbed to Death" - now the title itself is open to inuendo and interpretation!
howzabout the background music to the excellent game of 'Rising Blocks'? And the other advantage is it is on a Linux game so no copyright issues like "Clubbed to Death"!

LOL, There is an option to boot without music. I'm not exactly partial to the song myself. I prefer techno/dance music myself. But I can understand the surprise of hearing it the first time, but as I said before, there is a no music option dude lol.

I like the song, a bit cheesy but enjoyable. I think that anyone can stand a swearing or two, otherwise you'd have to shut down most TV broadcast channels also.

I agree with a number of posters in this thread: the words of the boot-up song on the Sabayon 5.o Live CD are vulgar and whoever is responsible for selecting just this song did nothing to help promote Sabayon.

Some people who do not speak English as their first language don't realize that millions of people in the English speaking world still have respect for their mother tongue, are not vulgar, and are not pleased when facing vulgarity.

No offense intended, but you are totally blowing this silly issue out of proportion. "english speaking .... still have respect for their mother tongue" You must not live in the US. Here, especially down south, people curse like sailors. I've heard far more vulgar music on the radio referring to sex (which is most hip hop music, etc yuck). This song has minor infractions and doesn't even touch the idea of bad morality in the US.

Not saying I'm not displeased with my country and the morality shift, just saying that nobody is really being disrespected. And over a looong period of time having thousands upon thousands of users and possibly millions, you are the few to complain. As said, there is a no music option.

The music is merely an entertaining way to test your sound at boot up. Watching TV, listening to the Radio, so on etc. Is by far worse than listening to this song. And in no way is anyone being forced to listen to it.

I'm not trying to offend anyone, I do not represent the ideals of the Sabayon DEV team in any way, this is my personal opinion. I'm sure that it will be changed soon, as the song usually changes every full release, and this one hasn't changed since 4.0.

You've got to be kidding right? You live in Berkeley and you're offended? I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years and heard much worse than this any day on the radio, or performed by any local band in any of the clubs around the campus. Heck I've heard worse during lectures by prominent professors. For years you had Howard Stearn, Alex Bennett and that knuckle-head Man-Cow on the morning drive time that were far worse. All of the hip-hop stations and rock stations have far more cursing than this one song.

And for the respecting the mother tongue bit..... I can tell you first hand as someone who learned Spanish as a second language out of necessity (it's predominant here in South Fla) that the first thing you learn / need to learn, is how to curse. Same holds true for other languages. My ex-wife was from Innsbruck, I spent a lot of time in Europe, and I tried to learn other languages while there. The one constant is that knowing when to curse and when you're being cursed at is one of the most important things one needs as a survival skill while abroad.

As has been mentioned already many times the solution is simple.... choose the NO MUSIC option. I don't know how much simpler and straight forward it can be.

Yes, I live in Berkeley. And, yes, I am offended. Likewise, I find the tone of your post objectionable.

The solution is not to include any vulgarities in the default setting for the Sabayon installer, and not to tell others that obscenity and vulgarity is now the default.

Posts like yours and your predecessor testify to the general level of insensitivity to the gutter-language invading public space. By the way, I don't own a TV set, and among my many friends and colleagues there is hardly anybody who has a TV set at home.
