Virtualbox wont start [Solved]

I am getting errors trying to run virtualbox 3.0.8 my log file: make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 -C /lib/modules/2.6.31-sabayon/build SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 modules
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `modules'. Stop.
make: *** [vboxdrv] Error 2
when I run modprobe vboxdrv (worked in 4.2) I get
FATAL: Module vboxdrv not found.
I try to recompile the modual and it tells me to look at the install log
I installed "the portage way"
any ideas
Sabayon 5.0 AMD64
4GB RAM
limbo repo added

still the same I tried that before and same result maybe I should uninstall it then reinstall?

well I reinstalled (after removing) and just to be sure I removed the files manually I reinstalled the entorpy way and all is good no mouse issues runs just fine Thank you for your help (again) I really appriciate it
