I think that module should be built in the kernel so it will find the hardware and set it up on installation. It it isn't wanted it can always be removed for ndiswrapper without extra set-up work. It took me some time to get ndiswrapper working and now even ndiswrapper isn't working all correctly. I can't even connect to a wireless network. I view networks and see signal strength, but cannot connect to them.
