VirtualBox Not working.

Postby GoTTsProfeT » Wed Aug 12, 2009 23:31

I get virtualbox installed and everything works fine untill i go to launch a virtual machine.
Please dont send me to the Wikki link because it doesnt work for me. Says its not found, so just copy+paste the wikki if you wish to refer me to it.

Error:

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Re-setup the kernel module by executing

'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'

as root. Users of Ubuntu, Fedora or Mandriva should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.

have you already tried this below?

Code: Select all
modprobe vboxdrv

because that's what the message says: your vbox kernel module is not loaded.
if it doesn't work, post the output here (;
