How do I activate the HDA port on a Asus P5N7A-VM motherboar

Postby reygalindo » Wed Aug 05, 2009 7:53

I been trying with the assistance of others on the web-community to activate the HDA port on my Asus P5N7A-VM Motherboard. I already had tried the following options: equo install pamam, equo conf-update and equo install pulse audio. I also had tried to configure the alsamixer in a root user mode for which I am able to see an 8chnnel bar option but I can not make any sound at all comming out of the HDA port. I am certain that I have all pertaining drivers installed since when I use lspci | grep Audio i get the following message: 00:08.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio (rev b1)
I just need to be able to activate the HDA port on the motherboard so I can hear high definition audio in the same way I am able to do it while using Vista as an OS.

Would you be so kind as to delete this post and to post that information/question in this thread?
Keep things a little clean by not creating more than one thread on one subject, would you?

edit: Not even one single shred of anything new or different in your other post, forget posting any of it here (as you've already repeated yourself in the OP), just delete it, would ya?
Handtekening? Zeg...ik ga niet op m'n monitor schrijven!
