Firefox Always in Offline Mode [Solved]

Hi, this is my first post.

I've just done a fresh install of SL 4.2 KDE on my macbook pro penryn [triple boot, OS X, ubuntu and SL].

After a bit of playing around, I got WVDIAL configured so I could connect to the internet.

The trouble is that only Konqueror will connect, firefox says it's in offline mode.

this is my wvdial.conf incase it may be related to that

 Baud = 460800
 Init2 = ATZ
Init3 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
 ISDN = 0
 Modem Type = Analog Modem

But I'm stumped, any help woyld be muchly appreciated.

do you have Network Manager running? If your not using it you should stop it, which should help.

/etc/init.d/NetworkManager stop

Also make sure that its not got a tick next to the offline mode in the File menu
