Howto get Sabayon back to KDE3.5.x?

Postby Xheralt » Sat Jul 25, 2009 3:00

Which would be more productive, starting with Sabayon 3.4 and building up, or adding the kdebase3.5 to Sabayon 4.2?

I really liked the Sabayon 3.4 theme styling and default games installed -- I just couldn't make heads or tails of Portato! I'm accustomed to Synaptic pkg manager from PCLinuxOS, MEPIS, and other Debian derivatives, so Sulfur is more my speed.

My hardware is such that KDE4.x runs noticeably slower, and it's a public-use machine, don't want to confuse folks by using a minimal desktop like fluxbox. How does one remove extraneous desktop environments, anyway?

anything pre 4.0 is getting to old to support and it's way to old for portage

3.5 KDE support ended and won't be back. Portage is your only route, you could grab the new Corecd and build a KDE 3.5 system from portage. You would just need to know how to use portage.
