Is the DVD you are using a RE-Writeable?
Or do you use it in Windows as UDF?

Have the same warning when I install Daily 06042011 ISO, but on my case, kernel was running and system was boot.

I agree with you, but thats pitty, because now I don't have any clue why zboj comp is freezing on kernel start.
Maybe he could start Sab with NOACPI? If this could give you some useful information?
I heard that a few ppl have problem with start Sabayon on INTEL processor with more than 2 cores.

raman, I very much doubt it is a problem with the Intel CPU, as I am using SL successfully with an Intel Core i7 720QM Quad Core Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB Cache, 2.5GT/s). I also doubt that noacpi will help your friend, but if he wants to try it he should boot the LiveDVD, press F5 when the SL boot menu appears, append noacpi to the end of the kernel boot line and press Enter. I very much doubt that will solve his problem, though.

No, ordinary DVD+R disk.

Fitzcarraldo, I have same CPU as yours so we can exclude this option. However noacpi was the only solution to run SL 5.4 on my laptop. Without it, computer froze at the point od 'Initializing the kernel'. Moreover, main release of SL 5.5 (as far as I remember) has the same issue. That's why I've downloaded dialy release. Well, it's better here because 'Initializing the kernel' passed through. Unfortunately there's still something wrong (first post picture).

Try this bootflag:
Code: Select all
disablemodules=iTCO_wdt

I think you are running into the "waiting for uevents to complete" problem that some others, with certain hardware, ran into past year.
