I tried the x64_G_20100922 GNOME version over three different system,
this is the most problematic...
System 1
AMD PhenomII 925 (quad-core)
4Gb DDR3 (3loop memtest 4.10 passed)
Chipset AMD 890GX/SB850
Integrated ATI Radeon HD 4290
DFP 1680x1050
SSD Corsair F60 (SATA2)
HDD WDC WD2500BEVS (SATA1)
Realtek HD-Audio
B43xx Wireless PCI
Marvell Gigabit LAN
Anaconda and Automated Graphical Configurator runs fine, ACPI (lm-sensors) fails maybe due to the very new chipset.
The system will report erroneous SMART data over SSD Corsair and it suggests to replace device (but otherwise work well)!!!
GPU ATI hardware recognized correctly and RADEON driver successfully used.
Broadcom B43 hardware doesn't work... (no way!)
SSH session work very fine over LAN.
Gnome desktop seems to work but some application have broken links, occasionally the content of the windows not be drawned (see screenshots).
Compiz 0.8.6 have some corruption over Tooltip windows (already noticed from 5.3G stable release and hardware indipendent!!!) and library </usr/lib64/compizconfig/backends/libgconf.so> is missing.
Manually reverting to Compiz 0.8.4 finally resolve the issue...
Maybe you could open a bug for this....
Some files from Live session in order to avoid SSD pseudo-problem:
Xorg.0.log
dmesg
pm-powersave.log
rc.log
Screenshot_001 (with compiz 0.8.6 glitch over tooltip and blank file-roller windows)
Screenshot_002 (with compiz 0.8.6 issue)
Screenshot_003 (with compiz 0.8.4 and NO tooltip issue)
...further tests will follow
Bye
