Cannot connect to Sabayon on EC2

Hi

I created an EC2 Instance with the https://aws.amazon.com/amis/sabayon-lin ... 4-20120729 AMI.
The Problem is I cannot connect to it with Terminal on OSX. Key and Security Group are definitely working because I tried other AMI's like Ubuntu or Amazon Linux. I always get Connection Refused.

Nobody ever tried the Image, or should I ask somewhere else?

Hi, welcome to the Sabayon Linux forums.

This is definitely the right place to ask (you might try the IRC help too if you wish), unfortunately since the userbase for those spins is relatively limited the help might arrive slowly.
I myself don't use that kind of spins, but I get you can't estabilish a SSH connection between Sabayon and your OSX system, if so, are you sure you got the SSH daemon running on Sabayon?

Thx for the reply. I tried the IRC twice but no luck.
Thats right, I cannot connect to Sabayon on EC2 from my OSX system. I also tried rebooting the instance.

It seems that the SSHD is not running, but since I simply launched a communityimage, i dont really know what to do, other than creating my own Image, or mounting the the Volume with a working OS and see whats wrong.

But the Image was submitted by Fabio Erculiani, so I figured it cant be that it is not working and the mistake has to be on my end

To provide a solution:

There are 4 AMI's to choose from. The only one which is working for me is the gentoo-sabayon-x86-20120729 (ami-f5757281)

Could you please bring this to the developers attention by filing a bug at Sabayon's bugzilla?

You could include the same informations you wrote here (maybe even link this topic), this way if it is a Sabayon issue it can be fixed.

I am updating the AMI but the Amazon review process takes forever.
You can try using these new AMIs, though:

amd64: gentoo-sabayon-amd64-20130303 (ami id: ami-02e7ec76)
x86: gentoo-sabayon-x86-20130303 (ami id: ami-f4e7ec80)

They are public, and you should be able to find them inside eu-west-1 (Ireland).

Anyway it was a good learning process updating since I am a total newbie. It seems my snapshot from my updated image is also available even though I didn't make it public. (or its just me who sees it)
