KDE hangs on boot [Solved]

You should run lspci as root.

Anyway I get the idea that it is a video driver setup issue, try a little experiment, let X configure itself, by moving the xorg.conf out of the way, get to a console and move xorg.conf:
(as root)

Code: Select all

mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.out.of.the.way
rc-update del x-setup boot


then reboot.

If it still doesn't work, restore the configuration using:
(as root)

Code: Select all

mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf.out.of.the.way /etc/X11/xorg.conf
rc-update add x-setub boot
