Rigo doesn't start after installing with Equo [Solved]

Postby theGrandSoup » Sat Dec 01, 2012 10:01

Hello,
I've been using Sabayon XFCE as a main OS for a few days, it's lovely using something not related to Debian.

Today I set up a VM to see what the mysterious CDX image was, installed it, was expecting a black screen with a blinking cursor challenging me to a battle of xorg installation, pleasantly surprised to receive a greeter, xorg server and fluxbox!

I then used Equo to install Rigo, both before and after updating (a fresh install between attempts) but couldn't get Rigo to start its window. the console output it gives is this: http://pastebin.com/eCi5Zdd4 (is text or pastebin preferred here)?

The occurrence of "icon" on every line, coupled with the unusual frequency of 'g' led me to believe that it may require a gnome-icons package. So I installed gnome-icon-theme through equo, and now Rigo seems to work correctly.

My question is now, Is this gnome-icon-theme a dependency of Rigo that Equo doesn't know about? If so, should I post it to http://bugs.sabayonlinux.org/?

Also, where can we point out problems with the Sabayon wiki page? The Rigo page has the unfortunate typo:

Hi, welcome to the Sabayon community and forums. :)

Both are fine, maybe text is a little better since it won't be deleted after some time, but be sure to use the Code tags for code or long logs.

Yes, if you find a bug and you are sure equo deptest doesn't detect the missing dependency then a bug report would be most appreciated.
Be sure to attach the log (as a bugzilla attachment, pastebin links aren't accepted in bugzilla since they are going to expire) and specify the entropy and equo versions, the more precise the information, the better.

Ops..
Fixed that, remember that you yourself could create a wiki account and fix that (or add articles eventually).
A wiki is a community powered project so it doesn't really have an "official" place for such things, but you might take a look at:

Note: As far as I know the accounts are activated manually now (because of too much spam flooding). So I'd like to ask you to join the IRC in case you want a faster response/activation.

I noticed that on the wiki, as I would like to help with that I'll spend some time on IRC today after doing the account request :)

Thank you for the welcome and the advice about errors messages/logs. I will do some more testing and read further into equo.
