KDE KOrganizer [Solved]

I'm unable to enter any events into Korganizer.

I've looked here

but can't see what I'm doing wrong.

After clicking [OK] and [Apply] nothing happens.

Is the “Calendar:” field supposed to be blank?

Hallo...
Did you already add a calendar on the left side with a right click?
The standard calendar is called std.ics.
For add this, you should select it and then confirm it.
Then you can try again to add an event.
And you could also import a calendar with *.ics extension (from other kde before).

Pls, let me know about your results.

Are you saying the “Calendar:” field should not be blank?

Yes, I mean this, it should not be blank, and I suppose, that you haven't installed any calendar yet.
So, in the left down quarter of KOrganizer, you can (must) add a new calendar with right click at that location.
Try it, you will receive a menue then with entry 'Add calendar'. Select it and then choose 'std.ics'.
Then you have your own calendar.
It is also possible (though difficult) to add a synchronized Google calendar also.
But to add a simple calendar, pls follow the way I told you above...

Ok, so here's the dialog I see when I right click in the South West corner and select "Add Calendar..." .

I can't tell which option equates to 'std.ics'.
All I'm after is a standard blank calendar.

Hallo...
I see your photo and now I tried to fix your problem.
So pls, go South West,
do Right click
Select 'Add Calendar'
Select 'ICal Calendar' (I saw on your photo)
Then where to select File name browse to (Don't forget 'Alt+.' to show hidden files and directories'):
~/.kde4/share/apps/korganizer
Select 'std.ics'
Click 'OK
Then you'll see, std.ics is created on the South West side.
Mark the box there.
When you now add an event (like you did before), you will see a pre filled the Calendar field.
Fill your requested fields and you will immidiately see the changes in your calendar in East window part.
Hope that works now.
Much success.
Btw, as seen on your photo, you can add Birthdays and Anniversaries calendar also.

Lovely, it works now.

It really shouldn't be that hard to get a calendar application up and running.
Thanks for helping me sort this out, here is no way I could have fixed it by myself.
