Strange booting problem

Hi, guys,

New here, hello all. Just tryimg Sabayon for the first time. Bit of a linux newbie but have used Ubuntu/spinoffs a little bit.

I just installed Sabayon 10 KDE 64-bit on my Toshiba Satellite T115D laptop (2G of RAM).

The Live CD worked fine. However, after installing, it begins to boot up, shows the screen with the blue progress bar at the bottom, then the screen turns black with a weird black-and-pink noisy pattern strip across the top, then goes black. The screen is on, it's just on on black.

It boots up fine in recovery mode, and like I said the live CD worked fine. I've tried reinstalling just in case - same problem.

Any thoughts?

Very grateful for your time and patience. Tried to search for this ut did not find a similar enough situation.

You'll need to install the graphics driver
You can add nomodeset to the boot argument to boot the default for now

I am inclined to think that it is not a driver problem, since, as I mentioned, it boots up fine on the live CD and in "recovery" mode. Plus, as has been mentioned, it should be loaded already.

Forgive the newbie inexperience, but how exactly do I add something to the boot argument? I know one can go in at the grub menu, but do I simply type this in? Remeber noobs don't know the subtleties of the force. I mean, of linux.

Question for a principle idea...
How to copy /etc/X11/xorg.conf from that moment, when live system is running
to the partition where Sabayon is installed?
I think with USB-Stick and root permissions it should be possible.
And then from a root conole:
