Unable to find root in grub entry

Postby flebber » Sun Sep 16, 2012 4:50

I am trying to triple boot. I have a laptop with windows 7, ubuntu 12.04 and I want to have Sabayon KDE 10. I have installed Sabayon, during install i didn't install grub as I want to manage it from ubuntu.

After the install I rebooted into Ubuntu.

I ran vgchange to mount my lvm and the updated grub as below. The error I get though when attempting to use these grub entries on boot for Sabayon 10 is that it cannot find root and it drops me to a shell.

Code: Select all
sayth@sayth-TravelMate-5740G:~$ sudo vgchange -a y
2 logical volume(s) in volume group "vg_sabayonx8664" now active

Code: Select all
sayth@sayth-TravelMate-5740G:~$ sudo update-grub2
