No menus in sabayon 9

I am a first time user of Sabayon
I have loaded the Live CD onto my Dell Presario Desktop
Unfortunately there is no menu bar at the top of my screen so I can do nothing further with it
As such I am unwilling to install it on my hard drive.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it

which live cd ? KDE, Mate, XFCE, etc.....

for 32 bit (x86) machine

The 64 bit version seemed to install ok
