Yakuake problems [Solved]

Postby barret » Sun Sep 20, 2009 3:37

I get this message when I start Yakuake. "Yakuake was unable to load the Konsole component.
A Konsole installation is required to use Yakuake." But Konsole is installed and working.

Did you install yakuake from equo/sulfur or from emerge?

Which version of yakuake and which version of konsole?

It could be that you have the wrong version of Yakuake installed: there is one version that is for KDE 3 and another for KDE 4:

Code: Select all
$ eix yakuake
[U] kde-misc/yakuake
     Available versions:
        (0)     2.8 (~)2.8.1
        (4)     (~)2.9.6 [M]**9999[1]
        {aqua arts debug elibc_FreeBSD linguas_ca linguas_cs linguas_da linguas_de linguas_el linguas_en_GB linguas_es linguas_et linguas_fr linguas_ga linguas_gl linguas_hu linguas_it linguas_ja linguas_ko linguas_nds linguas_nl linguas_pa linguas_pl linguas_pt linguas_pt_BR linguas_ro linguas_ru linguas_sv linguas_tr linguas_uk xinerama}
     Installed versions:  2.9.5(4)(03:05:47 16/09/09)(linguas_ca linguas_cs linguas_da linguas_de linguas_el linguas_en_GB linguas_fr linguas_ga linguas_gl linguas_ja linguas_ko linguas_nds linguas_nl linguas_pt linguas_pt_BR linguas_ro linguas_ru linguas_sv linguas_tr linguas_uk)
     Homepage:            http://yakuake.kde.org/
     Description:         A quake-style terminal emulator based on KDE konsole technology

$

If you're using KDE 4 then install the slotted version for KDE 4 (kde-misc/yakuake-2.9.5 in Entropy for Branch 4, kde-misc/yakuake-2.9.6 in Entropy for Branch 5, or kde-misc/yakuake-2.9.6 in Portage).
