Robot someone?

Postby Areneus » Tue Sep 01, 2009 11:21

Hi, I am a nooooob using a sabayon 4.2 on my laptop.

Here is my question.

I have a monitoring program that samples a value of a parameter and manually inputs control orders for the machinery.

The inputs are calculated via a visualbasic application i wrote.

For various reasons (i.e. going to the toilet), proprietary monitoring program i believe that it would be convenient being able to copy paste automatically the value read from the monitoring program in my small application, and if a control action is to be generated to copypaste it back into the monitoring program.

I am guessing that a robot controlling my mouse clicks may be the cleanest option.

Does anybody know if anything like that working under linux exists and if so what is the name of the project?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Ciao

Thank you for the help, :) i agree that my post above is not very clear.

What i am searching for is something programable to select, copy and paste something specified from an application to another and, if some parameters calculated by the latter satisfy certain relations, to select, copy and paste something else back into a specific window.

I checked the page above, and it looks like a SW that helps preventing repetitive strain injuries, and if i understood it well it doesn't have any programmable feature. :(
