Cannot log in even in root

i m new with sabayon environment.... when working in root, i tried to creat a new user. After logging off i tried to log with new user... it failed now i can' t even log in with root

I dont have an installation cd ... i would be very happy if could somehow log into sabayon gui ....

What Desktop Environment are you using, and how precisely did you add a new user? Furthermore, please read through the following thread: Sabayon 4.1 K; do not use kuser, as: a) it contains useful information for newcomers (even if you are using GNOME rather than KDE); b) one of the posts in it explains how you can reset your root password. You'll find other posts in the forum too about resetting the root password if you use the SL Search facility (another thread thrown up by searching is: Can't log in after update -password incorrect [Solved]). It's probable that you are going to need a LiveCD/DVD (it can be any Linux distribution, not just SL).

i beleive im using a KDE menu.
the posts for password recovery didnt somehow work for me

I feel shifting to single user mode will be a good soln. for this .The post for single user mode were too brief to implement .... could someone pls elaborate how to configure grub bootloader in single user mode.

I'm afraid I think you're stuck with a broken system if you can't reset the passwords. Nothing will work. It looks like a reinstall is the only option.
