Xserver/HAL problem.

Postby ioannidis007 » Tue Aug 25, 2009 15:35

Hello world. I recently did an equo update and equo conf update, and automerge all and I have serious problems. At first the Xserver wouldn't start. Then I restored the xorg.conf.sabayon file in place of the xorg.conf and the x finally started. But now the touchpad(Im on a laptop) and the keyboard are not working. The log (/var/logs/Xorg.0.log or sthing) says that it couldn't configure mouse and keyboard options and that I should reconfigure HAL. Then I went to /etc/hal/fdi/policy/ and all the files there seemed ok. Why isn't the keyboard and mouse staring? Any help appreciated. I am running Sabayon 4.0 KDE on a HP Compaq 6720s laptop. Thanks!

The most simple solution would be to download the 4.2 version, and make a clean install.

well pending on what all got updated you need to verify what kernel you are running and make sure eselect kernel list matches and reinstall the drivers.
