Masked packages?

I was planning on doing a world upgrade to 5, but after successfully redownloading the repo with

Code: Select all

equo hop 5 && equo update --force

I ran

Code: Select all

equo world --ask

and it said I need to download around 812 packages. And then asked for dependency calculation and gave me the following error:

 Every package matching >=media-libs/imlib2-1.2.0[X] is masked.

How do I fix this? I'm on 4.2 now. I'm still new to Gentoo/sabayon world [even though have been using Linux for a while! Gentoo is completely a league of it's own!]

Branch 5 should not be available to users since it is not yet stable.

So I'd think twice before an upgrade if I were you

However to fix that it is enough to unmask that package, use /etc/entropy/packages/package.unmask.
It is on your own risk, branch 5 is not yet public.

Thnx for the reply micia, yes I was warned about upgrading by wolfden in irc, just wanted to experiment.

the branch five is not so stable and not officially supported at this moment.
