kernel selection screen problem [Solved]

Postby tylerdurdin » Thu Jul 16, 2009 20:03

hey fellas, I just reinstalled my 4.0r1, I dont know why I am so compelled to keep going back to this disk, anyway have used this disk a few times installs always go perfect. This time however after all updates to world, I reboot, machine turns on and when it gets to the kernel selection screen it scrambles, I can read like one line of genkernel through all the mess. the only thing I did different on this install was choose the gnome desktop over the kde. Other than that issue, everything boots and is working perfect, including my 3D with my ati card. So is there a way to fix this? Thanx for any input.
BTW I am still a little noob, but have come aways so on any how tos, please be gentle.

First thing I would do, after booted, go to grub.conf and add a # in front of your splash image. Should give you your grub menu back.
