Dual boot WIndows XP and Sabayon Linux

Postby Xanity » Tue Jul 14, 2009 4:53

Hey, I was wondering, how do I setup my computer so that I can dual boot Sabayon Linux and Windows XP??? If anyone can tell me how or post a link or video on how to do it I'd appreciate it.

Before starting read

Backup your hard drive first
viewtopic.php?f=86&t=16544#p94702
Create 2 new partitions (use gparted, use vista tools if using vista or later)
Create 1 partition for Sabayon 30 Gib is good size
Create 1 for swap partition (as a rule of the thumb, double the size of installed ram, if you have 4 gig of ram then swap partition would be 8 gig or if short of hard drive space try not to go under 1.5 gig)

Install Sabayon using Live DVD, when you get to the the partitioning stage of the installer select manual and select the partitions you created with gparted set the 30 Gib as / and the other as swap

Installer will install grub which will find your other Operating system(s) and add them to the boot menu

Hope this answers your question
