Numlock active on boot

Postby Nichiren » Fri Jul 10, 2009 20:50

How do you get Numlock to be active on boot?
It really bothers me that I have to activate it manually each time, and in case I forget about it, I have another failed login

So, how do you do it? A non-commandline solution would be preferred.

Grazie
Is it included on the Sabayon 4.2 K dvd, or do you have to download it?

'equo install package' downloads package from the repositories, then installs it.
Best to read Resources For You first, especially the wiki page on Entropy.

Hi all,
I have found this thread but couldn't help me on the latest Mate 11 x64 version. I can't make the numlock active after boot. Well, it's not a big issue but an annoying one.:)

It may be possible to set Num Lock in your BIOS. Have a look on boot procedure (with pressed F2 key in most cases).

Hi, I don't have such option in the BIOS. It has never happened to me on any linux distro so far. The numlock always worked when I turned it on after a fresh install on the first boot.

In my KDE settings, I can turn on and off NumLock for my session time after Login...
You should have settings in Mate also, I'm sure....

It looks like a problem with the X server. The led is on until I enter login details then a blank screen (blank wallpaper) comes up for a few seconds plus the led goes off and after that the X server starts loading up into the desktop environment.
