Install svn

Postby arrigo1901 » Mon May 04, 2009 23:20

I would install a masked packet openmoko-dfu-util. I tried

# svn co https://svn.openmoko.org/trunk/src/host/dfu-util/svn: warning: cannot set LC_CTYPE locale
svn: warning: environment variable LC_ALL is en_US.UTF-8
svn: warning: please check that your locale name is correct
svn: OPTIONS of 'https://svn.openmoko.org/trunk/src/host/dfu-util': could not connect to server (https://svn.openmoko.org)

i tried with emerge too but i couldn't connect with server because i'm behind a proxy. I set the environement variables http_proxy and ftp_proxy but it doesn't work.

nano /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 4.2.2.5
nameserver 208.67.220.220

emerge-websync

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/h ... xml?full=1
6.b. Configuring Portage

Updating the Portage tree

You should now update your Portage tree to the latest version. emerge --sync does this for you.

Code Listing 2.1: Updating the Portage tree

# emerge --sync
(If you're using a slow terminal like some framebuffers or a serial
console, you can add the --quiet option to speed up this process:)
# emerge --sync --quiet

If you are behind a firewall that blocks rsync traffic, you can use emerge-webrsync which will download and install a portage snapshot for you.

If you are warned that a new Portage version is available and that you should update Portage, you should do it now using emerge --oneshot portage.

Firewall / proxy:
http://osdir.com/ml/linux.gentoo.docume ... 00000.html
Hi all,

at the official FAQ ( http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/faq.xml )
I found this question:

Q: How do I use emerge from behind a firewall?

A: Edit the PROXY settings in /etc/make.conf. If that doesn't work, edit
/etc/wget/wgetrc and edit http_proxy and ftp_proxy appropriately.

This answer is not sufficient, due to possible r/sync problems ...

I recommend to add this

If your direct connection to Internet is blocked by firewall and
you have to use proxy server, put the command
export RSYNC_PROXY="your_proxy:port" to .bash_profile

To allow SQUID proxy server for proxy rsync, ask your admin
to put similar lines to squid.conf:

acl SSL_ports port 443 563 873 # port 873 is used by rsync
acl Safe_ports port 873
acl allowed_hosts src YOUR_IP/255.255.255.255

SVN Error above:
nano -w /etc/locale.gen
en_US ISO-8859-1
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8

i raccomend you see documentation of Sabayon, because i have in mind that Sabayon will be fully oriented to GIT, and not to SVN.
