Real noob here?

How do I install from the live DVD of 4.1. When it gets to the login screen what user and password do I use. I have tried the graphical install and it still boots the live DVD.

Hi.
if i understood, you have an updated 4.0 r1. it have much more packages than the new 4.1.
but the new 4.1 is much more turned to multimidia, and more stable.
if you fully update the 4.0, you have practiccaly all the packages of the 4.1, and more, except for the Multimidia Center,
you have two choices, or you keeping your installed sabayon updated, or if you want to install the new 4.1, is better to make a clean install, over refermatted partitions, because also the file system is different, the new 4.1 uses ext4 bootable partitions...
Do not use the 4.1 Live DVD for update your installation, because the packages are practiccaly the same, but the 4.0 have much more packages and quite different, you may turn your system not stable.
resuming.
or you install the 4.1 gnome, removing your old sabayon, or you keeping your installation up to date, using Entropy or Portage.
