Ok, i downloaded the Sabayon DVD Iso, and installed sabayon 4 r1 x64 edition.
When i booted up, even tho i selected GNOME, it installed that, but when i booted up.. it went to KDE?
I know how to switch them so i did. but i noticed quite a few things. I had KDE. 3.5, XFCE, FLuxbox, Openbox? or something?(which starts and logs off immediately) i have Gnome of course, and then theres also Kde w/ Openbox, and Gnome with Openbox
so im confused on which ones to use i guess.. i mean i only want gnome installed. so being new to the package manager, i dont know how to uninstall. Im not going to lie.. ive been an Ubuntu user since about version 5.04 so Aptitude and Apt-get is all i know >_>. Gentoo never ran on my old laptop so i never got a chance to try anything gentoo based until i got this new laptop a year ago. It is a Asus G1S-A
2.2 Ghz COre 2 Duo, 4 GB Ram, 160 GB Hdd (thinking about upgrading....), 256 MB Nvidia 8600m GT.
I want to make sabayon absolutely go at its fastest so i want to remove FLuxbox, XFCE etc.. in Gnome i have WAY too many applications installed, since it has every desktop's apps installed.
What is the process to remove them without screwing something up? Im following the tut. right now from this area on what to do right after a fresh install... so ill check back here later.
lol sry, but one last question... is there an IRC channel for us Sabayon Users?
