Como instalar drivers impresora Canon IP 1200? [Solucionado]

Hola Fitzcarraldo, muchas gracias por la ayuda, y ante todo por la paciencia para ayudarme, hice lo que me dijistes, decidí empezar de cero y borre todas las carpetas, y volví a empezar, no toqué el make.conf, he aquí lo que hice, sin embargo, sigue sin desaparecer el problema:

Lo cual me tiene un poco confundido porque el sistema pareciera empeñado en no querer aceptar el paquete, y no se que estaré haciendo mal , de todas formas agradezco mucho la ayuda prestada y la paciencia para explicarme.

El problema es que el ebuild cnijfilter-2.60-r6.ebuild quiere descargar el archivo cnijfilter-common-2.60-r6-1.src.rpm desde el sitio ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/bj/linux/ (Canon Japón), pero el archivo no existe allí.

La situación es aún más complicado. Veja Comment #42 in Gentoo Bugzilla Report No. 130645

Descarga el archivo 24301.tgz del sitio Canon Europa (http://software.canon-europe.com/softwa ... asp?model=) en su escritorio. Dentro del archivo existe:

guideip2200-2.60-1.tar.gz
iP2200_Linux_260.tar.gz
cnijfilter-common-2.60-4.src.rpm
cnijfilter-ip4200-2.60-4.i386.rpm
cnijfilter-ip4200-lprng-2.60-4.i386.rpm

Después de eso, escriba los siguientes comandos:

Muchas gracias Fitzcarraldo por la ayuda prestada, sin embargo he de comentarle que tristemente no funcionó el procedimiento , sigue sin variar la alerta de paquete enmascarado, por lo que parece que me quedaré sin poder usar mi impresora en este sistema .

De cualquier manera, agradezco muchisimo la ayuda, he pensado en turboprint, sin embargo no puedo pagar la licencia, así que esta era la mejor opción, así que en lo que se arregla el problema o de pronto aparece otra opcion para instalar la impresora seguiré esperando los consejos e ideas para intentar instalarla puesto que siempre puede haber algo que pueda funcionar .

Su archivo make.conf parece viejo para mí. Por ejemplo, tiene la siguiente línea:

Hola, mi sistema es Sabayon 4.2 x86 KDE (Entorno de escritorio K Versión 4.2.4 (KDE 4.2.4)), no se si sea porque he instalado aplicaciones de sabayon 3.5, como amsn, frostwire entre otras, todas con entropy (equo para ser exactos), mi versión de portage es 2.2_rc33.

si mal no entiendo necesito python o es otra cosa?, otra pregunta realicé bien el cambio de perfil?, donde podré leer sobre el uso correcto de eix? es que estuve buscando pero por lo visto no muy bien y no lo encontré, y finalmente hay algun comando para portage equivalente al equo install --pretend nombre-programa?.

Hola a toda la comunidad, siguiendo con la investigación, me topé con esta pagina http://tuxtor.shekalug.org/?p=106, de un blog que es una guia escrita por un usuario gentoo, pero usando los rpm's de Canon y la aplicación RPM, sin embargo también tengo problemas con esa opción y de pronto puedan ayudarme, he guardado los siguientes rpm's en la carpeta /home/senso/rpms

Tienes que instalar python-2.6 si quieres instalar esta versión de Portage, pero puede ser un poco peligroso si no sabes suficiente (Again many Python errors. Infos to testers or to developers.). Talvez es la hora de instalar SL 5.0?

Hola a toda la comunidad sabayonera, he logrado instalar finalmente mi impresora, me ha tomado un laaargo tiempo pero finalmente lo he logrado , pueden encontrar el post en http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6875308.html#6875308, espero que alguien mas le sirva, lo he logrado instalar en gentoo de 64 bits, sin embargo es válido tambien para sabayon por lo que quería compartirlo y agradecer a todos los que me ayudaron, especialmente a:
