Several Fresh installs: cannot verify file X [Solved]

Postby kutte128 » Sat Oct 20, 2012 17:07

Hi,

not sure if this is a Entropy|Equo|Sulfur or Hardware problem, so feel free to move it to Hardware if neccessary.

i got an old Athlon 32bit PC and tried to install Sabayon 10.
I tried Stable and even Daily, both x86 XFCE4 and x86 KDE. Installation works fine, the System starts but i cannot install or update anything.
An equo update --force gives 2 errors: cannot verify file on packages.db.meta and packages.db.dumplight.bz2 with exit status 2 and every single equo install quits with GPG, cannot verify file [path/prog].tbz2 exit status 2
i removed the files and tried update --force again but then the GPG key could not be installed.

i tried with sabayon 8 Live-CD and it worked fine - install, installing progs etc.
Until i updated the System to 10

Is there a way to use Sabayon 10 with this old CPU ?

sincerely,
kutte128

please post the outputs of these commands:

Code: Select all
sudo equo --info
sudo equo rescue check

I have im my Job, University, an old Semprom 32 Bits.

The features that not works good are related 3d acceleration, they are not well good with the new XORG and kernels of Sabayon. Legacy drivers does not works with new XORG and nouveau not works good with nerw kernels, but in a overall manner, Sabayon 10 works in old computers.

For your problem, you tried to remove the cache of Entropy, and after retries?

Code: Select all
sudo equo cleanup
equo --pretend cache clean (if good, then)
sudo equo --verbose cache clean
sudo equo update
sudo equo upgrade

Thanks for your answer!
But at least i know why: the Mainboard resets clock every boot to 01/01/2000.
With proper timesetting, Sabayon runs and updates fine as usual.

I got a SSL errormessage after trying to mail the equo --info output to myself that the Cert would be valid in future.
