Postby kage » Sun Apr 08, 2012 10:04

Hi,

After todays update my desktop starts up the usual way. Getting all the kde logo's and startup progress screen. Then it should start in my desktop. At that moment there's a message which says theres a segmantation fault and it leaves me with a black screen with just the mouse pointer on it

Hi,
Try try use recovery mode and startx or start other enviroment like fluxbox. You can have also problem with graphic driver. In my opinion you should try to start oher enviroment or make equo update in recovery mode or console.

Thnx for your reply. I can login to fluxbox. But what can i do there to fix the problem?

equo update gives me the message that everything is up to date

ok I'll make update and we will see what happen :)

During update I found this:

USE="bindist" was not set. Potentially patent encumbered code was
* enabled. Please see patents.txt for an explanation.
* Note that in order to have full S3TC support, it is necessary to install
* media-libs/libtxc_dxtn as well. This may be necessary to get nice
* textures in some apps, and some others even require this to run.

maybe you need: media-libs/libtxc_dxtn

Another tip:

* Starting with Qt 4.8.0, you may choose the active Qt Graphics System
* by using a new eselect module called qtgraphicssystem.
* Run
* eselect qtgraphicssystem
* for more information.

eselect qtgraphicssystem list

cezary cezary # eselect qtgraphicssystem list
Available Qt Graphics Systems:
[1] native
[2] opengl (experimental)
