vim in Sabayon

Postby archwndas » Wed Nov 04, 2009 13:30

Hello guys,
for some time now I haven't seen any changes in Sabayon version of vim. What do I mean? It is compiled with many options not included. You can see the options by looking the output of the command: vim --version
You will see below the result in Sabayon 5.0 and after that the version provided in Debian or Ubuntu after installing the package vim-full:
#apt-get install vim-full (features that are missing are for instance clipboard clientserver etc...)

$ vim --version

First post here, just started using sabayon. I know this is old but only mention of the issue I could find. The issue still appears to persist. Currently looking for cscope support in Vim, it is not compiled with support for it. Is there a reason for this?

Thanks.

Hi there,
I don't know why the cscope USE-Flag isn't set (I'm no fan of vim at all), but thanks to the backward compatibility to Gentoo you can compile it yourself pretty quick by using emerge, or request to include the USE-Flag in a new package (that would be updated in the next update).

cheers
