Latest entropy grub update is broken [Solved]

Did my usual equo update and equo world --ask this morning and installed the latest grub (0.97-r18). A reboot left my machine hanging at loading stage 2. I had to boot in using super-grub disk and downgrade grub to 0.97-r9 using portage. All functioning OK now.

I had the same problem too, i did world update at march 23.
Today i did world upgrade, so far no problem. Grub was updated to grub-0.97-r18~1.

Is it possible to have a little more detail? I'm reluctant to update grub again until I know that the particular problem is fixed.

An update to grub caused a relatively major change to the interfacing between the grub stages, necessitating a re-run of the grub intsall to the main hard disk boot sector in order to update stage 1 and stage 2. The entropy package should make it so that the average user no longer notices this as a problem. The grub you had before wasn't broken - it just took an extra command to install properly, which has now been addressed in the entropy package. For those of you out there who use portage stable - you still have to re-run grub install for the boot sector of your boot device.

I had the same problem in one of my installations...
i corrected in this manner...
i booted from the Sabayon DVD, chroot to the HD, therefore i removed the Grub installed by entropy, reinstalled....
in boot it remained misconfigurated, by i use these commands....

# grub
# root (hd0,1)
# install (sda2)

This is my Sabayon partition.
Problem solved.

Hello,
same problem with updating today. Grub tells, that I have to make sure to install stage 2 into the mbr.
Any hint, how to manage it
The startscreen shows Sabayon 4.2 first, then alternating to 4.1. System starts.
