Have to manually start etp-applet

Postby dunsurfin » Sat Dec 27, 2008 9:15

Sabayon 4.0 x86-64 fresh install.
Not really a problem but I wondered if having to manually start the update notifier is by design?
(Everything else is working great - thank you.) :)

If you have KDE as your Desktop, you may automatically start etp-applet by modifying the .kde/Autostart
directory in your 'home', adding a link to 'etp-applet-gui'.

For example you may open a console and type, as a regular user:
Code: Select all
cd ~/.kde/Autostart
ln -s /usr/bin/etp-applet-gui

This way the applet should start automatically at the user login.

Thank you. I did drag the etp-applet icon into the autostart folder and it works well. I just wanted to know if this was by design as there has been no notification of the change that I'm aware of. If it's not by design, then it's a very minor bug.
