nxserver-freeedition missing license files

Postby optiz0r » Mon Oct 06, 2008 0:44

Hey all,
First time Sabayon user, impressed so far.

I tried to install nxserver-freeedition on a fresh 3.5 install after running equo world. When the server started, it would refuse connection, returning a 611 error code, no subscription information found. It turns out that the package installed via entropy does not create the node.lic and server.lic files in /usr/NX/etc/ which are created when this package is installed in Gentoo under portage. Copying the contents of these files over from an existing Gentoo machine allowed the NX server to start, and I am now happily using it.

It appears as though these files are generated automatically during install under portage; they contain the timestamp at which I installed the packages as part of the license information.

Could the entropy package be updated to create these files?

Thanks,

good spot!

The fastest way to get this fixed would be to post it to bugs.sabayonlinux.org. Please note that forum logins don't work on the bugzilla, so you'll need to create another account.
