Problems with Spritz

Postby cisforcojo » Thu Aug 14, 2008 19:08

I'm new to Sabayon and am having a couple problems with Spritz.

1) I can't remove packages. When I go to installed packages, then search for my package, the package will be displayed but when I click on the package, Spritz will hang for a bit and then come around, but that's it. I can never get an option to remove it. All I can do is click on the package to highlight it, wait while Spritz hangs and then ... that's it.

2) Is there any way I can get a faster repo!? I'm in China so the internet is especially slow b/c of the Olympics. I used this repo:
http://mirrors.64hosting.com/pub/mirrors/gentoo/ while I was trying out Gentoo. How could I use this in Sabayon?

Thanks!

For question number 1:
Right click on the green box to the left of the package name, after a short while there will be 3 options to choose from; "Reinstall", "Remove" and "Purge". You may need to wait a little for them to appear.

I can't help with question 2.

you can't just use gentoo mirrors or any old mirror with entropy so no -- you will have to be patient till more mirrors pop up

Ah that's a shame. I've tried right clicking but it didn't do anything different.
There's something weird going on with my repos. I actually can't install anything!
The repos look like they update ok but when I try to install icewm (about 800k), Spritz will download around
50-100k of data and then report "Error downloading from ....................... - not found"
It does that for all the mirrors and then eventually says it's a checksum failure. Any ideas???
