Kernel Update

Postby New » Mon Aug 04, 2008 13:08

Hey,
i want to upgrade my kernel from 2.6.25 to 2.6.26.
What do I have to do? In other distributions the kernel is integrated in the package manager, but in spritz theres just the old version of the kernel.

Heya New. (nice name)

You can use portage to emerge the new kernel: http://wiki.sabayonlinux.org/index.php? ... _genkernel

or if you are on x86-64 my Zenana repo has it (if you wish to use spritz/equo).

Related questions from a Sabayon newbie.

What if I'm running 2.6.25.(x) and want 2.6.25.(x+1). Does Sabayon track kernel.org, or do I have to recompile?

Gentoo seems to track, so should I use their kernels?
