You can do a comparison with me and see if it's your entropy or entropy itself. Install openoffice two consecutive times and try to see the times for some steps (first install probably will take more time; second, third, ... should take the same). I have a dual core (2,4 Ghz each) but I think entropy can't handle more than one core so results should be similar. These are my results (equo v0.15.23.5):

- first time, without doing anything with entropy since system start.

Ok, these times are a little worse than the ones using command line, but still good. I don't know what changed, but it is clearly performing better now. The only difference remaining is the number of packages in the queue to process (more than 50) and the type of packages. Maybe 'xf86-*' driver packages have to do a lot more when installing/removing...?

Conclusion: The sabayon devs have written an excellent package manager and I see ghosts and hallucinate sometimes Thx to everyone who wasted time for me , but the good news is that it isn't an entropy/equo/spritz problem.
