linux is free, the expertise to harness it is not!
you don't make so much money selling open source software!
You make MORE money USING it, just like google!

I like Kuroo too very nice and simple for a beginner to Portage (as I am).
I actually accidently helped my self. I noticed that Portato came pre installed on 3.4a so I followed the instructions to make it Gtk only and hence after that It wouldn't emerge it was complaining about gnome 1-2 ....... something probably something not updated because I installed all packages from DVD.
Since I was left without a GUI I emerged Kuroo and it works nicely but it's worrying that it's not maintained maybe I have to give Portato another chance or stick to Kuroo??

with limited info it's hard to help - open a topic in the portage section and give details of what is going on.

I would LOVE to download the torrent [Azureus in SL 3.4 loop3]. BUT I keep getting connection refused. What's up with that? That's on torrent x86_64 #2 and #3. LinuxTracker.org is to busy to respond. Are all 3 torrents that busy? Or am I banned? Frustrating as I'm willing to seed for quite a while for my favorite distro...

Do you use default ports? Some port are blacklisted by internet providers. Try set Azureus to port e.g 30000 and forward the port in the router. I hope it helps Azureus works well for me.

Wolfden,
Thanks for you quick reply. I'm happy with Kuroo but once I get home from work I'll see if I can find a log file for the error I got and post it in the correct place. I was playing around with getting Banshee to compile in Portato it didn't work so I read in the forum that there was some issues with qt and is not supported anymore so I followed the instructions to make it GTK. and it definitely removed it... Once I got Kuroo up and running I still had difficulties emerging Banshee but after some updates (libipod, GTK) it worked fine maybe Portato also works now? I will test once I get home. What Gtk packages is Portato dependent on?

What I meant was I was using Azureus in already installed OS SL 3.4 Loop3 to download torrent for SL 3.4a. At any rate the next day the problem was resolved. No idea why. I'm still working on world upgrade of AMD 64 3.4 Loop 3 which, as I understand it, would in effect be same as 3.4a? What I wish to do [on the 'back burner' for now] is install x86 3.4a on another partition.
