Sabayon Linux 5.3 GNOME and KDE: Stable release

Hey guys. First time I've used Sabayon properly with this release. Love the look.

Probably the first distro I've ever installed where the fonts don't look like death. Love the inclusion of the world of goo demo too.

The gnome release seems very very polished.

I hope this one installs. I've been using since 4.2 as it was the one distro that simply worked. However with both 5.1, 5.2 and two of the daily isos I haven't even been able to load the liveDVD. I can't use the auto updates as my backwards little geographically isolated country has very limiting bandwidth allowances so I rely on the new releases to update. Fingers crossed with this one though.

^Did you verify the MD5 checksum of the ISO you downloaded, and also check that the burn is correct using the procedure in the SL Wiki (HOWTO: Checking the integrity of a LiveCD or LiveDVD)?

If you are absolutely certain the burn is good, try partitioning the HDD manually using e.g. GParted (SystemRescueCd is good for doing this, and is what I normally use) and then try again to install from the SL LiveDVD, specifying manual partitioning in the relevant Installer window.

It's always worth checking the MD5 checksum of a downloaded ISO before burning it to a DVD. It takes less than a minute to check it using the md5sum command, and avoids the possibility of wasting a DVD / binning plastic unnecessarily. Also, if the MD5 checksum verifies for the first download, you don't need to download it again, thus saving time.

I cant even install this one, it stops when i get to the partition scheme |error| "if i try to install again i provide some error logs"
Pretty dissaponited now after trying 11 times in a row to install it..
