If I download and burn PE, can I use it to upgrade my MiniEdition installation without data loss?

Hi
I have bought a copy of Sabayon Linux 64 v1.1 Pro Edition from Linuxman DistOS.
I have the following problem "booting the system stops at 65%" it then goes into "standby mode".
F2 gets the boot screen back still stopped at 65%, F2 again brings up the verbose mode this has stopped at the boot prompt.
I am able issue commands ie cd, ls and su to Sabayon user prompt.
startx says that server is in use with 0, connection refused
Any help would be appreciated
Best regards

Finally my wireless card and sound card are working well (Acer 7520-5626)!!!!!!!!!!.

I want to thank all of those people that develop, integrate, and support Sabayon distro, thanks!.

It is really a nice distro, but in my case after a while, i was not able to do my wireless atheros ar5007eg and hda sound card work.

My solution was to install Mandriva 2008 (it detected my sound card and my wireless card out of the box -using ndiswrapper), and also i think the package installation/uninstallation is easier on Mandriva.

Thanks, i really appreciate the help you gave me.

Thanks again

OK I'm posting this as a possible solution!
cd /usr/portage/local/layman/sabayon/x11-emerald
cp -v emerald-0.5.2.ebuild emerald-0.5.2-r1.ebuild
Edit the line that says >=x11-wm/compiz-0.6.2 to become >=x11-wm/compiz-0.6.2-r1
ebuild manifest emerald-0.5.2-r1.ebuild
After which it should allow you emerge!

Tried PE 1.1.

Installer stuck at "100% Files installation complete / Total progress 74.93". It simply don't proceed on grub installation.

The same here, I had a look to the active processes and last three were busy to copy and change permission for the "sabayonuser" account. I just killed those processes and the installer reached to 100% and rebooted without no problem.

At this time there is no Pro Edition. It's not even being developed so the status of it's future isn't really bright. Follow along the blog to stay update with latest happenings.
