Recommend software?!?

I find sabayon regular install to bloated. but the core edition is to minimal. if i go with server install
What software would you guys recommend for these task
I want to use xfce4 i have a laptop with a ati 200M grpx card a broadcom 43xxx wireless card , amd X2 64

looking for

wireless configuration gui:

Movie player: I like mplayer ... what about xine? pros? cons?

linear video editor:

Dvd burner:

higher end audio editor: audacity is ok - but want a little more features (adobe audition type)


any input is appreaciated

not sure, but i think Kdenlive is a linear video editor, has just released v0.5 and is generally very well regarded.

I will check these out next week! i am installing sabayon(flux) on my laptop. (only disto to detect wifi and ATI card Out of box!)
