I have to be honest and say that Sabayon is heavily overpacked already. I think the miniCD has everything you need so im waiting. If i had a say i would make the DVD edition take a back seat.

In my humble opinion, Blender is MUCH more important than all those games they've been putting on lately. I need none of them for one reason. My comp can't handle that type of graphics intensive stuff. Yet.
I suggest that until you people start using blu ray discs, you refrain from putting so many 3D games on here. Maybe you could put a limit on how much space the 3D games take, and have all the creative software ALWAYS on the distro. Blender is one of my favorite programs along with Gimp, Firefox and Inkscape. I know perfectly well how to emerge stuff, but every once in a while, what I want isn't there, and I find it MUCH harder to manually compile it from the source. Blender is, of course, on Portage, but I'd rather have everything I want on my installation as soon as I've got it instead of this.

Oh, and, btw, Blender 2.44 is the latest, with 2.45 coming soon. (ish)

Here's the beginnings of my 3.5 wishlist.

Blender 2.44 (Or 2.45, depending on whether it's out)

That's all for now...

People are loving the games tho. It's just one of those situations that you can't please every one. Portage is always there and ready for use.

I know there's portage, but games are not able to create things. Games are just plain huge, and Blender, as an example, is NOT, at least in comparison. We never will be able to please everyone, but I believe that Blender is much more important, being able to MAKE things.

i agree that Blender is much more important than the games, but that's just because i use blender and don't play games. the majority of the sabayon community loves and plays the games, and we are just a minority, Dr.Dixie. Therefore, portage is the solution, and great solution. sabayon doesn't deliver the latest blender, which you will need to upgrade using portage anyway. then just use portage and wait 50mins for it to compile. (you could have some coffee, or lunch meanwhile)

why to go out of you office? You can put portage to do it's compile duty job and in the same time you can continue to surf the web, play your games, edit your office spreadsheet ... etc ... etc .. do you daily work with your desktop! Just put a sane nice level in make.conf and you can do a openoffice compile job in background, without any interruptions of you daily work routine! You can even use actual openoffice in the same time! This is a linux feature! Upgrading your kde from v3.5.6 to v3.5.7 from a v3.5.6 kde session! No windoze jumping can beat this incredible feature!
